Finance Category Management - Manager


Category Commercial Finance team, with full P&L responsibilities for new categories. The finance manager will provide strategic & operational support to the Category team (marketing and commercial). Responsibilities include planning & forecast, financial analysis of key drivers & ensure financial viability and delivery of new products.

Job Duties:

Understand the drivers of actual financial performance of the category, and explain variances to forecast, AOP & last year Own all financial analysis within the category: financial modeling, promotional strategy and impact, scenario analysis, investment business cases, price increases and innovation: no P&L without Finance Sign off. Be the real expert on financial performance of the category Actively drive improved financial performance of the category by highlighting opportunities to improve (e.g. mix) Be involved in all innovation processes with a financial impact, and conduct post launch evaluations for all launches. Ensure that all innovation is financially viable and are built on robust assumptions. Together with the commercial lead and demand planning, validate and review the sales forecast to highlight risks and opportunities. Review marketing investment for the category, and lead the evaluation of marketing campaigns / marketing spend Own and lead Infant Feeding AOP & Strategic Planning Processes to ensure the delivery of a robust plan. Support senior management in ad hoc analysis and reviews Ensure that company financial policies & processes are adhered to. Provide financial expertise & direction to all members of the function and your category. Drive financial awareness, financial systems awareness and ownership of all relevant financial metrics within the category team.

Background Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have good experience within a similar position or have been working within a role demanding proactive decision making/ strategy guidance. They will be externally focused and able to interact with sales and marketing at all levels. Degree in Economics Highly numerate and analytical Strategic Thinker Strong commercial business understanding Ability to work under pressure to short deadlines Strong team player with good interpersonal skills Project Management skills System skills: SAP, Excel Advanced
