Jeans for Charity
Protis Executive Innovations has developed a way to give back to the community through the establishment of Jeans for Charity. Jeans for Charity was established in 2008 when the idea of a casual work environment became appealing to the majority of the office.
How it works: Team members can wear jeans if they donate to the charity of the month. Each month, a different team member is selected to choose a charity. They are then put in charge of collecting money from their peers for the selected charity.
The Result: A small price to pay where everyone wins. In fact, this simple act will raise $5,000 in 2011 just for the opportunity to wear jeans.
Below is a list of the charities involved:
Unicef: Unite for Children
UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. UNICEF has the global authority to influence decision-makers, and the variety of partners at grassroots level to turn the most innovative ideas into reality. UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind – to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path.
UNICEF advocates for measures to give children the best start in life, because proper care at the youngest age forms the strongest foundation for a person’s future. UNICEF is part of the Global Movement for Children – a broad coalition dedicated to improving the life of every child. Through this movement, and events such as the United Nations Special Session on Children, the organization encourages young people to speak out and participate in the decisions that affect their lives.

This inconsistency is what inspired Chris and Mary to develop Rebuilding the Wall, which stabilizes and empowers low-income families by renovating vacant inner city properties and giving the families the opportunity for homeownership.
